Account Director Job Description
MLC is searching for a mid-senior level PR superstar to join our growing team and to work with an outstanding collection of restaurants, food, and lifestyle clients. Candidates should have 3-5+ years of experience in the food/media, or related lifestyle space. The ideal candidate is incredibly smart, creative and dynamic, has strong relationships with media, a smart eye for story angles, understands the media landscape, is skilled with social media, and is a great writer. Candidate must be able to lead accounts, provide/drive strategic goals for their clients, lead client interaction, and generate media results on a consistent basis. Experience in marketing, collaborations, partnerships and social media is a plus.
 
 
Responsibilities
- Bring a creative and strategic approach to brands/projects, and be able to execute PR campaigns, partnerships and events.
- Write thoughtfully and beautifully about brands, developing key messages, bios, press releases and more
- Prepare individuals for interviews and media-facing opportunities
- Lead pitching efforts and develop story ideas to achieve maximum editorial placement
- Day-to-day lead on communication with all clients, building rapport and credibility with the client, based on trust and expert counsel
- Ensure client satisfaction with the agency, services and staff
- Excellent team skills, working alongside junior and senior members of the agency
- Manage, coach and motivate junior members of the team to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly and PR results are delivered
- Efficient, organized with excellent time management skills and adherence to deadlines
- Leverage traditional, digital and social media as well as emerging technologies to develop strategic PR solutions for our client
- Established, strong industry contacts with press, both online and in print and with key bloggers

 


Requirements
- 3-5 + years of communications experience
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines at once; exceptional time management skills
- Ability to work well independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong working knowledge of social media platforms and print, tv & online publications
- Invested interest and knowledge of chefs, restaurants, brands and hospitality world in general
